WHO WE ARE

Shafa Welfare is a registered Non Profitable Charitable Organization - NGO under the Society's registration Act of 1960 (No.654/07-08). Constituted in 2008 by the like-minded people.

We have been promoting and providing basic needs of the people across various sections of the society in different fields including children, education, sports, orphans, deafblind & disabled, healthcare and empowerment of women working with them at an individual level without discrimination of caste, creed and religion; besides providing help and aids for animal welfare and protecting environment....

With our well recognized programmes, initiating and running many welfare schemes and vocational courses, computer training, other skills training for women and the benefit of the poor and deprived; besides awarding scholarships to more than 100 students anually to sustain their activities.

With the humanitarian objective of serving the poor and downtrodden in various fields, our help has not limited to the periphery of the city but has spread it wings across the remote villages and isolated schools as well.

This society is an independent entity and is primarily a charity or NGO in Belgaum and has no political, religious or commercial affiliation. It serves humanity irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion. While spending money on charitable activity, it is ensured that the charity is not misplaced or wasted. Proper verification and cross checks are made before and after giving scholarships, donations etc. to ensure that financial assistance given is properly utilized.

Our Executive Team

Syed Shaali Pasha S. Basheban Inamdar

PRESIDENT

Sayed Shaali Pasha S.Basheban Inamdar is an Indian Islamic Scholar and academician. He is at present sajjada Nashin of Khanquah - Basheban Dargah of Belgaum. He currently serves as a President of this NGO Platform.

The platform from which every field of discipline is taught, and unprivileged needy receives help and assistance. He is well known for his public speaking, his personality and education in both fields.

He believes that one should gain both kinds of education at a time. He believes that a human should be a kind hearted human before anything.

He is a philanthropist at heart & by nature and is providing financial aid to several charities in his personal capacity as well. He is also actively participating in the humanitarian work through various Trusts/Societies and Institutions of which he is a Trustee. He has taken keen interest in the charitable activities of shafawelfare.

It is with this passion that he remained fully involved and successful implementation of various charitable programmes and also has identified additional areas through which our NGO can help the plight of the poor He always has an inner urge to serve society in a different ways.

He believes that the most practical and meaningful way to give back to the society is to bring hope to the poor and downtrodden in distress. This inner urge and his concern for economic upliftment of the disadvantaged and deprived gave birth to many schemes.

He is particularly concerned about the social and economic upliftment of the disadvantaged, underprivileged, and dispossessed sections of the society.

SAYYEDA BIBITAHA BASHEBAN INAMDAR

Vice President

She is a kind hearted demeanor post graduate teacher in a reputed school, as well as craftswoman with an experience of 10+ years, who is actively involved with our production team in designing and developing. She is part of the senior management team and works closely with the chief executives.

She is multi-talented & energetic mother woman in our team with training in social entrepreneurship and NGO Management; contributed effectively to various other voluntary organizations in the past.

She is a philanthropist at heart, full of passion by nature.In her previous roles she has volunteered and been on the board of various social ventures.

She has a wealth of knowledge and experience of commissioning and providing services across all client groups which supports children with specialist educational needs, the leading global work on sexual and reproductive health, and rights on gender equality, Child care & Women Empowerment.

She actively encourages the team to engage with their local communities and to undertake activities to increase the general public’s awareness.

She is responsible for maintaining financial accounts of the society, providing the financial reports and also liaising with other organizations within the society;supporting the organization through commercial, promotional and fundraising activities.





MALATI KERUR

Chief Program and Communication Officer

MalatiKerur is the Chief Programs Officer at Shafa and is leading the Programs knowledge and impact verticals. She builds the capacity of our education NGOs and provides them with hands on support to create their systems and processes. A post graduate and retired school principal, she has close to twenty years of experience, the resource constraints, in order to provide quality education to all children and has experience in driving large scale transformation projects in education. She is deeply passionate about making a positive impact in people’s lives through her work, and excited to drive thus through capacity building of NGOs at Shafa. She is an animal lover and travel enthusiast as well. She loves to travel and highly values new ideas and innovation.



PETER D’SOUZA

Planning & Operations Officer

Peter D’Souza, a prominent businessman and consultant joined Shafa in 2017. He is part of the senior management team and works closely with the chief executive, driving strategy and responsible for project management and operations in a commercial venture and operation. Sales and networking skills are his main area of expertise.

He ensures the charity’s resources are managed and directed to provide the best services to the people we support. Peter brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of leading fundraising departments to deliver a growth in income and engagement. He is extremely passionate about social service and community development. During his early days, he has held multiple positions across strategy consulting during which he managed offices and supervised teams, assisted in field assignments, headed administration and community relations portfolios.
